Perfect Popcorn

How I make myself a serving of popcorn.

• measure 50g of kernels
• take a 2-3L pot/saucepan with a lid
• cover the bottom with a thin layer of oil, about 2tbsp
  • when kernels aren’t popping fully, it may be due to having too little oil
• pour the kernels in and give them a shake to cover them with oil
• put on high heat (8/12 on my stove), give it a shake from time to time
• once popping slows, move the pot off the heat and let it sit for a little while in case some kernels still wish to pop
• dump the popcorn into a bowl
• toss some butter in the hot pot and let it melt with the residual heat
• pour the butter over the popcorn and salt to taste
• optionally add a bit of grated parmesan
