Varia
. . . study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined, irreverent and original manner possible.
Richard Phillips Feynman, A letter to J. M. Szabados, November 30, 1965
There is never enough time to take a close look at everything that catches my interest. However, when something does and I keep coming across it again and again, perhaps I should pay attention. But be selfish and pay attention for your own sake and not because everyone else is focused on something. One is constantly missing out on everything they’re not paying attention to.
- Reflect for a little while before adding something
- When I can no longer remember why I placed something here I should remove it.
- If there is already a more specific note for some topic, it should go there instead
Carry out research on a topic in bulk. Gather all your questions and find the answers. For topics I don’t know much about, I think it’s preferable over seeking out an answer whenever a question comes up. Less context switching and being in the fitting context makes the relationships between pieces of information or knowledge more apparent.
